Film Festivals conducted by Government machineries must not aim at monetary gains, said Mammootty. "When the organizing of festivals are handed over to the event management groups, it will automatically become a centre for making money rather than a centre for promoting best films from across the country". Mammootty was talking about the recent festival managements in the 'Meet the Press' event held at Thiruvananthapuram press club yesterday.

Mammootty was very much overwhelmed with the very positive responses that he got from the recent film 'Karutha Pakshikal'. He also explained how he tried his level best to present himself different from his normal mannerisms in the film.

"I acted in the film with much less remuneration than usual and in the next 'Kaiyoppu' I have acted for free," explained Mammootty, while talking about his endeavors for promoting quality cinema.

Mammootty also lined up his next ventures including 'Pazhassi Raajaa' by M.T.-Hariharan team and 'Ore Kadal' by Shyamaprasad, which will be going to floors in a very short time.
